Completed JobsGSS has successfully placed thousands of tower and wireless site antenna installations all over the United States. Many of these have been on, around or near historically sensitive sites. In these cases GSS carefully negotiates the site installations with the SHPO, local historic commissions and/or Native American tribes. Attention to detail and accurately submitted information has given GSS a second to none track record in placing sensitive sites. GSS has negotiated many such sites that are within National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) Districts, near NRHP listed sites and/or have proximity to both local historic sites and National Monuments.
TALL CORN TOWER
This site involved a rooftop installation on an NRHP listed building. Numerous carriers had already placed antennas on the building rooftop without gaining SHPO approval and as a result the Iowa SHPO had classified the existing installations as a cumulative adverse effect on the building and would not therefore approve additional wireless installations. On behalf of our client, GSS successfully negotiated the approval of additional antennas on the building roof without having to undertake any mitigation or stealth efforts.
WILL ROGER BUILDING
GSS successfully negotiated the installation of antennas on the rooftop of this NRHP listed building in Claremore, Oklahoma. Numerous carriers had been previously unable to gain the required regulatory approval for rooftop antennas at this site, but a thoughtful approach and unique design gained the approval from the Oklahoma SHPO.
IOWA STATE FAIRGROUNDS
DES MOINES, IOWA
GSS successfully negotiated the placement of a non-stealth monopole inside the Iowa State Fairgrounds which is an NRHP district. Site consultation was initiated in May and the site was cleared and constructed in time for the beginning of the annual Iowa State Fair which is held in August. It was the first wireless raw land site to gain approval of the Iowa SHPO that was located in an NRHP District.
LOVEJOY NATIONAL MONUMENT, ALTON NATIONAL CEMETERY
At this location, GSS was able to successfully negotiate the installation of two stealth monopoles on the Lovejoy National Monument within Alton National Cemetery. The negotiations involved gaining clearance from the Board of Directors of the National Cemetery, the Alton Historic Commission, the Illinois SHPO and the National Parks Services as all organizations claim jurisdiction or an interest in the property and National Monument. Carefully authored and complete submittals, as well as perseverance allowed GSS to gain approval of this installation as each organization had a very clear and separate requirements for the project.
